USC91435 Ultrasound transducer

USC91435 is a replacement ultrasound transducer intended to be used with standard ultrasound systems in diagnostic ultrasound imaging or fluid flow analysis of the human body and to be operated by or under the direction of a physician.

 

This ultrasound transducer assembly is substantially equivalent to the predicate OEM transducer. Both of them are similar to each other in terms of features and use parameters; as well, they are used on the same diagnostic ultrasound systems. This transducer consists of piezoelectric crystals covered with an acoustic lens, a scan head that fits around the lens, a cable with strain relief on both ends, and a connector to attach the transducer assembly to the ultrasound console.

 

The piezoelectric crystals convert electrical energy into ultrasound waves, which are transmitted to the human body. They also generate electrical signals when receiving the ultrasound echoes reflected from the tissues. The cover on the surface of the window is the acoustic lens. Finally, the cable conveys electrical signals back and forth between the scan head and connector of the transducer assembly.

USC91435 has been designed for application in abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology. Other relevant features are IPX7 protection against ingress of water, patient contact materials are biocompatible according to ISO 10993.
